La Boqueria is a design studio with a global and multifaceted vision of the project implementation process. Its value proposition lies in distinctive projects that embrace the social and circular economy.

As well as learning all about their origins, their working methodology and what sets them apart from their competitors, in this interview you will discover more details about two of their most recent projects.

One of them is the construction of a winery in Avinyonet del Penedés: Bodega Can Parxet. This project was implemented in an idyllic setting, surrounded by vineyards, and involved the construction of a cellar that can be used both for hosting tasting sessions and as a research center for studying the cava production.

The result is a completely self-sufficient building with a roof covered by photovoltaic panels that can deliver all the energy needs of the building. The project incorporates strategies such as cross ventilation and the oversizing of the facade insulation. The latter provides the building with a high thermal inertia, enabling it to retain warmth in cold weather and cool air in hot weather, which reduces the energy required by the building to operate its machinery.

The second project discussed in the interview was implemented by La Boquería in the Santa Eulalia store, in Paseo de Gracia, Barcelona. It is a collaborative project co-designed with the Run Design group and Elefante, with the challenge of attracting public to the store at Christmas time. This was achieved through 4,000 hand-folded paper pyramids and 4,000 PVC pyramids arranged on the facade. The strategy was to cover the entire store and make it sparkle, grabbing the attention of potential customers.
